My Colourful Story
The chameleon is a multifaceted creature, transforming the colour of its glorious skin to adapt to its environment. As a creative person I find myself adapting in colourful ways too! My name is Jessica Sanders and I am based in Sydney. Through my career I have adopted skills in fine arts, photography and graphic design.
I began my university education in fine arts (BFA Hons), creating large scale digital photomontages. My major work during this period follows the transformation of a “chameleon” subject within a collaged panoramic image to investigate concepts on identity, metamorphosis and the forming of boundaries. With this basis in photomedia, I started a creative business with two other members, contributing my photographic and graphic skills. I then went on to work on my own as a freelance photographer to produce images for events, weddings and material for commercial use.
I returned to study at Billy Blue College of Design to focus on graphic design. Over the past 5 years I have worked as an in house designer, specialising in floor covering, interiors and product photography. I have also taken the opportunity to do branding work, as well as creating graphs, typography and visuals in professional reports for a small business.
